From Mrs. Hurley Allen
Remember slumber parties? We would gather at one of our houses and that girl’s mom would serve up chips and dips and brownies; and for dinner, we had a favorite that Judy’s mom, Mrs. Allen, would always make because we always asked for it. It’s a simple hamburger casserole she served with tossed salad and hot garlic bread. As Mrs. Allen would say “Call the girls and have fun. I did enjoy making it.”
1-1/2 pounds Ground Chuck
1 large Onion, chopped
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 can Tomato Soup (undiluted)
1 small can Tomato Juice (1 cup)
10 ounces Cheddar Cheese, grated
8 to 10 ounce package Spaghetti, cooked in salted water
(don’t overcook as it will cook more in the oven)
In a skillet, saute ground chuck and onion until done. Add chili powder, salt, soup and juice stirring to mix. Toss meat mixture with grated cheese and cooked spaghetti. Turn into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
